3D Cyrofreeze – How Does it Work?

Your experienced SkinSpaceUK consultant  will start the 3D-Cryofreeze treatment by placing an anti-freeze pad on the targeted area to protect the skin. 

They will then use the specialist handheld device to create a vacuum, drawing the fat into the suction cup. Expect to feel a slight pulling sensation and within a few minutes the targeted area will become numb, as the temperature is frozen to minus six degrees. The hand-piece will be positioned on the area from between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. During this time, the fat cells will safely crystallize and cause between 20% and 40% of the fat in the localised area to be destroyed. It’s a highly focussed treatment, so the cooling energy is delivered to the subcutaneous fat layer without causing any damage to the skin or surrounding tissue.

One cup per session can be used to target double chins, or upper and lower stomach areas. It’s also possible for two areas to be treated simultaneously with the 3D-Cryofreeze duo application. Two cups would be used to treat upper arms, love handles, inner thighs, outer thighs, upper and lower stomach areas and a bulge around the bra area. 

When the treatment is finished, the affected fatty tissue is gradually disposed of through the natural lymphatic system, flushing out the dead fat cells and showing visible results after 8 to 12 weeks.

    Does it Hurt?

    The 3D-Cryofreeze treatment is generally considered a comfortable and painless experience. During the treatment, you may experience a slight pulling sensation and will feel the treatment area getting cold but within a few minutes, the area will become numb.

    How Many Treatments Are Needed?

    The 3D-Cryofreeze is a one-off treatment, however it can be used as part of a bespoke course of treatments depending on your desired outcome. Our SkinSpaceUK specialists will work with you to create a tailored treatment plan, targeting problem areas and providing the best possible results, which may include combining 3D-Cryofreeze with other technologies.

    How Long Does Treatment Take?

    The treatment will usually take between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

    What Are the Possible Side Effects and Risks?

    While cosmetic medicine is not without complications or unwanted side effects, we do take every precaution to minimise and limit any complications to offer a safe and comfortable service. Reported side effects include but are not limited to the following: bruising, redness or slight numbness for up to three months.

    How Can I Prepare for the Treatment?

    Please arrive for your appointment wearing loose and comfortable clothing.
    Avoid anti-inflammatories such as aspirin before the procedure, to reduce the risk of bruising.

    What Does the Aftercare Involve?

    For optimum results, your 3D-Cryofreeze treatment will work best if complemented with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

    Avoid hot baths and heat treatments for the first few days. In the unlikely event of prolonged swelling, itching, tingling, numbness, tenderness to the touch, pain in the treated area, cramping, aching, bruising and skin sensitivity, please contact your local clinic or email help@skinspaceuk.com for assistance. You can apply Vitamin E liberally to aid healing.

    You may feel a dulling of sensation in the treated area that can last for several weeks after the procedure. If the chin area has been treated, you may experience a feeling of fullness in the back of the throat, which will subside one to two weeks after treatment.

    You may start to see changes as early as three weeks after treatment. The best results can be seen 12 weeks after the procedure.

    Your body will continue to naturally process the injured fat cells from your body for approximately three months after treatment.
