Microneedling

We recommend a minimum of four treatments, repeated at four weekly intervals. Many clients have reported seeing 60-80% improvement in treatment areas within six months of treatment.

Treatments usually last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated.

While cosmetic medicine is not without complications or unwanted side effects, we do take every precaution to minimise and limit any complications to offer a safe and comfortable service. Reported side effects include but are not limited to the following: discomfort, burning, bruising, swelling, pigmentation, scarring, infection and blistering.

Before every treatment, please advise us of medical conditions and medications that you are taking, including antibiotics or steroids.

At least two weeks before and after your appointment, please discontinue using hair removal creams, fake tan, bleaching products, strong emollients, aromatherapy oils and perfumes in the treatment areas. During this period, your should also avoid waxing, exfoliating, epilating, bleaching, laser or
threading the treatment area.

For one week prior to treatment, avoid harsh cleansers, scrubs, scrubbing brushes, washcloths, Clarisonic devices, Retin-A, Retinols, acid peels (AHAs or BHAs) or Benzoyl Peroxide.

Please arrive for your appointment with a clean face (no makeup, perfume or aftershave). We are unable to treat clients with active cold sores or warts, wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area. If you have a history of cold sores, antiviral medication may be used prior to treatment and continued for one week after.
Avoid the sun for four weeks before and after every treatment and we strongly recommend using sunscreen SPF30+ at all times throughout your treatment.

Immediately after treatment it may look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. The treated area may start peeling after a few days, which is a normal part of the healing process. Please avoid picking, scratching or peeling the treated skin as it may lead to scarring. To minimise any discomfort following treatment, we recommend the Soothing Repair Postcream from the Genosys range of products and/or ice packs can be applied to the treated areas.

Avoid washing your face for the first day after treatment, and hot baths or heat treatments for the first few days following your appointment. You can continue with your usual makeup and cosmetic routine 48 – 72 hours after treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for a minimum of four weeks to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation.
