The treatment usually takes on average three to five days to begin to work. The treatment can take up to two full weeks to reach optimal results.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a temporary procedure and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last approximately three or four months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended (every three to four months) the longevity of each treatment might last longer.

While cosmetic medicine is not without complications or unwanted side effects, we do take every precaution to minimise and limit any complications to offer a safe and comfortable service. Reported side effects include but are not limited to the following: discomfort, bruising, swelling, dull heavy sensation, occasional headache, Ptosis (droop) of eyebrow or eyelid.

If you are prone to bruising we recommend taking Arnica tablets around four weeks before treatment.
Avoid any facial treatments one week before and after treatment.
Please arrive with the area of skin to be treated clean.
Please advise us of any medications including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. The administration of anti-wrinkle injections with certain other medicines may cause side effects.
Advise us about any muscle or nerve conditions, such as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton Syndrome, as you may be at increased risk of side effects including difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing from typical doses of anti-wrinkle injections.
Advise us about any medical conditions, including: plans to have surgery, had surgery on your face, have trouble raising your eyebrows, drooping eyelids, or any other abnormal facial change.
Advise us if you have received any other Botulinum Toxin product in the last four months, take muscle relaxants, allergy or cold medicine, sleep medicine, aspirin-like products or blood thinners.

Immediately after treatment, there may be redness and swelling to the treated area. This is a normal reaction and usually settles in a few hours.
To minimise any discomfort following treatment, ice packs and Arnica cream can be applied to the treated areas. Avoid lying down for at least four hours to prevent the product from migrating into other areas.
You can continue your regular skin care routine, including touching your face to cleanse and moisturise. However, it’s best to wait at least six hours (ideally 24 hours) before massaging or rubbing the skin.
You can gently wash your face straight after having anti-wrinkle injections. However, for seven days after the procedure you should avoid facials, massages and other treatments that put direct pressure on the face
You may experience tightness on your forehead; this usually subsides after five or six days.
Heat can increase the chances of bruising at the injection site. You should avoid hot showers, baths and hot tubs for 24 hours after having treatment. It is also best to avoid strenuous aerobic exercise for 24 hours.
It’s best to avoid drinking alcohol for a day or two before and after the procedure. As alcohol increases fluid retention and thins the blood, it can worsen the mild bruising at the injected site.
Although exposure to UV light won’t affect the results of your treatment, it’s the number one cause of wrinkles. We recommend using sunscreen SPF30+ at all times.
We advise our patients to avoid flying for 24 – 48 hours after treatment. The changes in air pressure can affect the results of treatment by moving the substance to other muscles in the face.
